Puerto Rico Baptist College Names Dr. Bacilio Alfaro as its New Interim President

Bacilio Alfaro

Bayamon, PR:  Dr. Doug Cowan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of PRBC, announced Friday, October 24, 2014, that Dr. Bacilio Alfaro had been appointed as Interim President of Puerto Rico Baptist College.  Dr. Mike Casillas, founder and president of PRBC, recently retired due to health issues after having led the college for 34 years.  Dr. Alfaro comes highly recommended with a vast experience in a variety of ministries.  He and his wife Eunice have been serving under Mission Gospel Ministries International since 1974.  He has planted churches both in the United States and in Mexico. He has also served as the Director of Ebenezer Bible Institute of Hermosillo, Sonora, and has held several Director Positions with Mission Gospel Ministries International.  Dr. Alfaro is a well-known conference speaker in Hispanic Fundamentalist conferences.

“We are excited that Dr. Alfaro is able to join us,” Dr. Cowan said.  “It will be great to have him on our team and to see God’s blessing under his leadership.  Since Dr. Alfaro has spent so much time traveling and preaching, he will be a great representative and leader of the college (PRBC) as Dr. Casillas had done for so many years.”  Dr. Cowan asked the students, staff, and faculty to be much in prayer for Dr. Alfaro as he makes this transition in his ministry.

It is an honor and a blessing to have a man of this caliber as Interim President to guide Puerto Rico Baptist College through this next step of its history. We look forward to see how the Lord will use him as we continue to train young people for God’s service.
